There Are A Lot of People Out There!

Every once in a while I will stop by my blog and "clean it up" a bit. Make sure links are the most up-to-date, delete links to sites that haven't been updated in a long time...stuff like that.
I have a hard time keeping up with all the new features Blogger creates (seemingly on a daily basis). You can "follow" fellow bloggers and add links into your titles. Wow!

There are a lot of people out there, sharing their thoughts, likes and dislikes with the world. I never knew there were so many black women into makeup like I am! Some people manage more than one blog. I have a hard enough time managing just the one I do have!

The world is truly becoming a smaller place. You no longer have to wonder "Am I the ONLY one who thinks/feels/acts this way?" A couple of clicks will put you into contact with like minded people.

But are we more or less connected. I am a subscriber to the bi-monthly Discipleship Journal magazine. I received my latest issue (my last if I don't remember to renew LOL) yesterday. The lead article reminds people that we must make an effort to become and remain connected in our relationships with others and, most importantly, with Christ. A timely message for someone like me who is a natural loner.
I have to force myself at times to engage others on a deeper level (even my daughter sometimes) and get past the daily chit chat and surface stuff. I'll be honest...sometimes that stuff just weighs me down so much that I would rather not be bothered. Life is messy and I don't like mess. But when I wade into the messiness of life, that is where I find the deep, heartfelt, life changing connections that I truly long to experience.

Now that I have bared my soul to you...it is off to begin my day of monthly budgeting, grocery shopping, and chauffeuring.
